Have you ever wondered if you could pick up your Jamboshop orders in person? Yes, you can. Jamboshop is an online store, but we also have a number of pickup stations throughout Kenya. These pick-up stations serve as locations where you can have your orders delivered. There are plans to increase the number of available pickup stations, but for the time being, we have two active pickup stations in Nairobi.
Why choose a pickup station instead of door-to-door delivery? Here are a few advantages to choosing a pick-up station. Since picking up from a pickup station is generally less expensive, it first offers a chance to save money and time. In contrast to the door delivery option, where you would need to be there to get your item, you can choose the time that you go pick up your item, making it more convenient for you.
What is a Pickup Station?
A Pick-Up Station is ideal for online and mobile order fulfillment. It serves as a pickup location for customer take-out, third-party delivery services, and orders awaiting in-house delivery drivers. When you place an order on Jamboshop, you can choose to pick it up from a nearby pickup station, allowing you to go retrieve it at a time that is most convenient for you, as long as it is within 7 days of receiving the pick-up notification.
How to Select Your Shipping Preference
When it comes to shipping preference, Jamboshop has the ‘Standard Shipping’ and the ‘Pick up station’ options. The standard shipping involves having orders delivered to your preferred location and this may take up to 2-3 business days. Keep in mind that when you choose either option, there is usually a fee attached to it.
If you want your package delivered to a pickup station near you, simply select “pickup station” as your delivery method at checkout, then choose the closest pickup station from the list of available.
Operating Times
Your Jamboshop orders can be picked up within the 7-day delivery period. Both hubs are open from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the exception of weekends and public holidays.
What are the requirements for picking up your item from the pickup station?
When your ordered item becomes available for pickup at your selected pickup station, you will receive an SMS or email notification. The pickup station’s address and working hours will be included in the email/SMS. A valid ID will be required for identification during the collection at the station. At the point of collection, any of the following ID cards can be presented:
- Driver’s License
- National ID Card
- International Passport
- School ID
Can someone pick up my order on my behalf?
If you know you won’t be able to pick up your order at the pickup point because of unforeseen circumstances, you can instruct a representative to do so on your behalf. He/ She must present a signed copy of your valid ID card.
