Before sending products to the Jamboshop hub or fulfillment centers, it’s critical to understand what types of packaging are appropriate for products sold to buyers on the Jamboshop marketplace.

Packaging requirements

When shipping units to the hub, keep in mind the following general guidelines. Other specific requirements apply to certain products. At your expense, Jamboshop may refuse, return, or repackage any product delivered to a fulfillment center with inadequate or non-compliant packaging. Due to damages and damage-related returns, Jamboshop may add specific requirements to a product.

  • Any SKU you use on a unit must be one-of-a-kind and belong to a single product. Each assortment type, such as size or color, must, for example, have its own SKU.
  • Each unit must have a readable SKU on the outside that is easily accessible.

Loose products

Each unit, including multi-volume book sets, must be housed in a single, secure package.

  • Jamboshop does not accept units that require numerous pieces to be assembled (for example, a bicycle where the handles and wheels are separate, but are sold as one piece).
  • Loose sleeves or pouches must be bagged or secured with a non-adhesive band or removable tape if they are not contained in secure packaging.
  • Footwear, regardless of material, must be wrapped in shoe boxes or poly bags with a suffocation warning, with no shoe material exposed.

Sold as a set

Sets of units, such as a set of six unique toy cars sold as a single item, must be clearly stated as such on their packaging. Attach a label on the unit that specifies that the products are to be received and sold together. “Sold as a set,” or “This is a set. Do not separate” are examples.

This ensures that fulfillment center employees distinguish between the SKU for the pack and the SKU for the individual units within.

Boxed units

  • The box to be six-sided.
  • There must be openings or a lid that is difficult to open on its own. Use tape, glue, or staples to keep the box closed if it can easily open on its own.
  • When medium pressure is applied to any of the sides, they must not collapse.
  • If the product has perforated sides or openings, it must pass a 3-foot drop test with one drop on each side and one drop on a corner. If the product fails the drop test, it must be packaged in a polybag and labeled with a suffocation warning.

Bubble wrap

The following criteria must be met by bubble wrap products:

So that the product does not slip out, it is tightly wrapped and taped shut.

On the outside, there is a well-labeled SKU.

Passed a 3-foot drop test on a hard surface without damaging the contents. Five drops are used in a drop test:

  • The base is completely flat.
  • On top, it is flat.
  • The longest side is flat.
  • The shortest side is flat.
  • On a slant

It’s possible that bubble wrap is required since the object is:

  • Fragile and vulnerable to damage during transportation
  • This object is heavy or dense, and it may cause damage to other items during transit.

Expiration dates

Expiration dates must be written in the format DD-MM-YY If the expiration date is printed in a different format, the original expiration date must be covered by a sticker in the right format.

  • Expiration dates must be clearly displayed on the outer box and on individual units for products with an expiration date.
  • Expiration-dated products that require additional preparation, such as poly-bagging or bubble wrap, must have labels with expiration dates attached to the outside of the product prep or packaging in order for Jamboshop workers to see the expiration date during the check-in process.
  • Perishables are not permitted.

Marketing materials

Marketing materials such as pre-priced labels, booklets, price tags, and other non-Jamboshop labels will not be accepted by Jamboshop.

Safety

When packing products, use safety knives with covered blades to avoid injury from sharp objects accidentally.
